At Invisionsoft, we sometimes run competitions, for the enjoyment and benefit of our users but also to promote our game design program, DS Game Maker. Entering into these competitions is completely voluntary and requires skill and effort, therefore they are not classified as lotteries.
- You never have to pay to enter our competitions. They are completely free to enter.
- You can use either the Free or Pro Edition of DS Game Maker. No purchase is necessary.
- There are no age or geographical restrictions. You can enter from anywhere in the world.
- We do not consider who you are (or claim to be). Every entering candidate has a chance of winning.
- You can enter as many times as you like, but you may win only one prize.
Generic Rules
- You can work individually, or as a team. There is no limit on the size of a team. In the case of working as a team, you must decide to whom the prize will be posted.
- You may extend the functionality of your entry with custom actions and coding, but you must use DS Game Maker to a significant extent, and compile the final version using the DS Game Maker environment.
- You must create all of the resources in the game, or ask permission from the creator to use a resource (permission in a license file is allowed). This does not include the resources included with DS Game Maker, you may use these at free will.
- On request, you must be prepared to provide the source (XDS, Pack'n'Go) of your game, although it will not be released or published without your express permission.
- You must include evidence in your game that it was created by you, for example: "Taru's House by James".
Publicity
Your entry will never be shown or identified in a negative way. We do not however censor bad feedback on our games page. You will still own the copyright on your creation, but you give us permission by entering to do the following:
- To promote your creations and talent
- To promote the DS Game Maker software and other Invisionsoft products
- To promote the adoption of the Pro Edition of DS Game Maker.
Prize Substitution
The prize of the competition will be given a clear cash value. If, at the time of winning, the prize is unavailable and it is not the direct fault of Invisionsoft, the winner may choose one of three options:
- Wait for the supplier (or whatever cause of the delay) to deliver the prize.
- Accept the cash value of the prize by PayPal, Cash or Cheque
- Find an alternative prize of equal or less cash value of the current prize. The price difference will not be refunded.
Notifications
If you win a competition, you will be notified by email with a request for your shipping address so that we may send the prize. The prize will be sent as soon as possible (the next day, unless it is a bank holiday or weekend). You can request to be informed by forum private message or instant messaging if preferred.
The winner will also be announced on the DS Game Maker forum, competition(s) page and also possibly on the website homepage.
