i have just started and cannot figure out how to Click on the start menu and start playing
if you can help me out i would appreciate it

You mean you don't know how to open DSGameMaker?

Press Windows Key + R at the same time and then enter:

C:\DSGameMaker

Double click on DSGameMaker.exe and then you have opened it!

i meant i made a start menu on the game and i want it so wen i press the bottom screen it start the game up

Make a new sprite that says Start on it and a new object. In the object, select the sprite, so it shows up, and enter this code:

If Object Touched
Start Block
Swith Room
End Block

Then put your object in your Room and when you touch it, it will go to the next room!

End Block

Now it will switch to your room when you press anywhere on the bottom screen.

like yoshi said, but in 5.12 there is an action to determine if the screen is pressed. make a menu room, then use the if stylus pressed action to switch to the game room
