Multiple backgrounds

Postby lucky » January 11th, 2011, 3:07 pm

Is it possible to use multiple scrolling backgrounds in a room.
I what to use several backgrounds in a room one background faraway not scrolling so much and a closer background scrolling faster, this too gain some 3d deep effects.

Is this possible too do in dsgm, I have noticed there is a layer field in the background scrolling action/event.
Can this be a clue?

Yes, you absolutely can. DSGM offers 4 layers on which you can load backgrounds, numbered 3 to 0, 3 being the farthest/lowest.

A quick summary of the layers:
0 - front
1
2 - default when placing background in a room
3 - back

You cannot set the layer by default, you have to use a custom action:
Adv Change Background.action
Advanced Change Background
(180 Bytes) Downloaded 62 times

The action appears in tab Display, as "Adv Change" (Background is truncated)

This is a modification of the default Change Background action; this one allows you to choose the layer. For the new Layer property, you should put in one of the four layer numbers.

And when the background is placed with the action, you can make it scroll with the Scroll Background action.

Have fun!
