the constant running even when you release B

also does it have to be such a small collisan map

You should put in the Step Event that if B isn't hold and the sprite doesn't move the speed should return to whatever it was in the first place.

Yes it does have to be such a small collision map. That's better for the memory and you don't need more pixels than that. Are you having problems with it?

For every tile you use in the normal background you place one pixel on the collisionmap. If the tile on the normal background is a wall or something else solid, you should make the pixel any color but Red (255,0,0). If you can go on the tile you make the pixel Red (255,0,0 make sure you have the right one, the new paint hasn't got the right red in its standard palette).

A tile is a 32 by 32 tile isnt it :?: :roll:

Depends on the background you're using. Like in pokemon games, you can't move half a tile. If you hit a direction it will always move at least one tile. In some games the tiles are 16x16 or 32x32 or even 8x8. You can also fill in that your tile size is 20x20 (if your background uses 20x20 tiles) or any other size, but it's worse for the memory than a multiple of 8.

your saying that a 8 by 8 is a tile so you use one pixel :shock:

then your saying 32 by 32 is a tile so you use one pixel :shock:

am I getting this wrong :?:

You should choose the size of the tiles before you make a background. The tile size can be any size as long as it's compatable with your background.

I don't know what is happened, but I open the file this morning and I haven't the error...

Really I don't understand....

I tried to put everything on the bottom screen and now when I go to talk to someone it wont respond at all

I was just having this problem as well. Alot of things to explain but the main thing is when I try to load the background, there isn't anymore layer space. There's layer 4, 3, 2, 1, and zero, and three of them are occupied with the other backgrounds you loaded.
So there's only one more layer left. I use that to load the text box blue. You can't put the text over that cause it uses layer 1. So when you load it, the graphics go distorted.
So i'm not sure if it's ppossible. Unless you don't load the text box it should be alright.

Anyways, here's what it lokks like.

Sonic, in simple terms, you define the value of your tiles. Based on that choice, your background is understood to have those tiles. For my game, I am using 32x32 thanes to rpg maker vx. So in the collision, simply add a pixel for every , in my case, 32 tiles. So if i have a 256x192 background with 32x32 tiles, then there should be 8 black horizontal pixels and 6 black vertical pixels, in the shape of a rectangle. The places you walk should be pure red, as jan said.

Also, I love it how you can add colors and use them as doors. It really saves a lot of repetitive code. And maybe even more besides doors. Nice. :P

If you put everything on the bottom screen you should also change the 1 to 0 in the function RPG_LookingAtRPGSprite and RPG_LookingAtColor!

It is possible to load a textbox, you should change the font for that. You can ask me how to do it if needed.
