BTW, I consider 4.9 'abandonware'. Do whatever you like with it.

Some people have the source code (in all its messiness). Feel free to share it, and learn from it.

Just for anyone wondering, I think that I'm the only active member to have the source code, I believe two other people had it but they pretty much left the site about a year ago.

If anyone wants it, the best option is to PM me, I will probly give it to you but I don't want to release it publically or else there will be loads of topics like "how does add 3d in dsgm4.9???"

I have 4.9, But due to DSGM v5 ,it doesn't work.
Following the tutorial, I was able to do 3d in DSGM 4.9. But I wouldn't be able to make a descent game using it though because it's to time consuming and I have to edit the c file every time.

My 4.9 still compiles and I haven't done anything special to it. Weirdddddd.

Not really, it should still work if it worked back in the day. It's only for new users who want 4.9, or people who had to reinstall Windows because it got so slow.

Well I've spoken to him once on Skype at like 1AM where he said he'd email me the source to DSGM 5 eventually and told me about his plans for DS Game Maker X but I haven't been able to get hold of him again.

Cool! Okay, so just to be sure this allows both dsgm 5 and 4.9 to be able to run sucessfully on the same computer without problems?

devkitPwn installs PAlib and devkitPro. With it installed any version of DS Game Maker above 2.3 will compile.

No. It just installs devkitPro and PAlib and sets them up so they'll play nicely together.
