This is because not many people are using DSGM now, and by that I mean not as many as there were before. Once DF is released, more people will come because of the cross-platform development and the forums will be much more crowded.

And BTW, this should've been in the Off Topic section. You seem to post a lot in the DSGM 4.9 section...

The responces you give are never very nice. Many people try to just keep away from you.

to be fair you demand help then give little to no thanks for it, you take it as a right rather than someone giving up their time to figure out your problem and help you - and then there is little to no evidence of you trying any suggestions given, until someone dumps a 'fixed' project for you.

Not very encouraging tact to present to your would-be helpers

You always seem angry, and complaining. People don't have to help you, and so if they do choose to, then you should be very gratefull and thankfull rather than complain saying you had to wait too long.

let's give me a little more credit than that..

first: i always say thank you - usually in advance in the very first post and as well in PM's

ex: to jan

hmm.. odd works now but i had put the 32 spaces in before..

always starts with hawaii.. infact in goes right through the same states in the same order everytime instead of random.. i know it always starts with hawaii lol

anyways ty for yer help with this

second: i haven't had james publish anything in the games page lately nor have i released anything yet to show the thanks in them or even in their descriptions

and lastly: yoshi.. yer the only one i seem to have an issue with more than anyone and it's yer comments that start me off

EDIT:
also, most of the time the projects are not completed nor is the topic i started.. so why would there be a thank you before i accomplish what it was that i was trying to do? if something i was trying to do was accomplished i would most certainly give a thank you right away.

The point is, Ruffsta, that you just seem to be wanting someone to code the game for you. You have been working with DSGM for a pretty long time, but still you don't seem to understand any of the code I write you. And btw, you never show us the games you finish. I have helped you A LOT of times, but I have never seen any of my work in the Finished Games section. That's not very much encouraging either. Change your attitude.

you have no idea how many projects i have and really none are complete.. so to show as i said they have not been released nor have i had james post any up.

JanMulder wrote:You have been working with DSGM for a pretty long time

not really, i stopped using dsgm for awhile honestly.. now and then i look at the projects i have and see what's what with them and work on each a little at a time. and jan, you already said you don't open pack and go's - so.. how would you see yer stuff? especially if it's not working yet? btw, you seen the hangman, yet that's still unfinished - but you seen it and my daughters state game.. again, both are unfinished so no point in showing anyone. i use dsgm once in awhile.

but hey, whatever.. nobody wants to help - that's fine too. but i hope nobody expects me to talk about dsgm or recommend the product to anyone either if that's gonna be the case.

It's simple. I helped you a lot in the past. It took me quite some time to do those things. Then this is what I got (litterally copied from PM's):
Ruffsta wrote:ty for helping me

or just:
Ruffsta wrote:k, last question for the moment then:

or even:
Ruffsta wrote:yers are not centered in the screens..

The last one was for a project I worked on 1.5 hour. Didn't get a "Thanks" at all.
And has the project ever been released? No.
It's just like you've thrown it in the trash can.

You'd benefit a lot if you just tackle one project at a time. Having many incomplete projects together will only demotivate you. Take one project at a time, and make sure it's simple so that you can do it yourself. Then go for the tougher stuff. Take help from others, there is no problem in that. But do not expect them to do it for you. You will not learn anything from this. The key is learning and betterment. And if you do that, you'll soon see others respecting you and liking your work.

Im with Jan 100% there, Ive spent a lot of hours of time figuring out problems with your projects and fixing them, as well as giving suggestions and explanations to you and then you've given up or not replied, eg;

i guess... but i have no clue on how to use PA stuff... so, i guess i can't make anything useful to bother using dsgm..

i can't get v5 to work... hell, i don't even see where you put code in.. shit, atleast 4.9 on the right had the code section.. how do you even put a sprite in the room.. i add it, but it don't go into the room like 4.9...

To which I gave an introduction to v5 and how it's all laid out, how to put sprites, objects and rooms together and got no reply, it's like you scrunched my reply and binned it. When you do reply it's just 'ty' and a few words; it's not that I want a huge thank you, it's just that it really comes across like help you get means nothing to you, you expect it and when you get it you just move on.. lack of respect probably sums it up?

When we post suggestions and code, the least you could do is take the time to try it out - maybe you do but it seems that you give up or just want it all done for you, there's rarely evidence of it. You're pretty negative, most of your comments are complaints/annoyance at something or other, DSGM is not perfect - but we try, chill some

Ruffsta just look at this:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1665&p=6927#p6917
You ask for help. And I post a solution in the very second post on how to fix it. It seems you have not even read the few lines of fixed code that I sent and just compiled the same thing again and posted the same error again. Then I explain to you how to fix it again, quoting your code, then mine, to show you the difference. And at the bottom of my post I explain to you that although the code will work, it's not very efficient. I was hoping you would get it to compile and say thanks, and then I would know I was appreciated, and I would try to make new and improved code for you that I thought would be efficient. It turns out that ensted of the simple thanks I was hoping for, I got an angry rant.

That's the problem I have with you. Your too agressive, you read a post that you don't like and immediately reply complaining about it. Your like the basterd on the program "The young ones", I think his name is Rick. He walks into a resturant, sits down and suddenly just clicks his fingures shouting "Waiter! Waiter! God the service is terrible in here!" I'm sorry but it's true, that's who you remind me of.

Oh ok, sorry, I never saw your last post. I will see if I can help you later and we can forget about all this? I thought that either Cilein or my code would work, but it didn't so I shall try again, and actually test it first this time.

thank you, i'll look at it a few minutes have stuff in the oven atm to pay attention to.. i'll get back to you shortly

EDIT:
i don't know if it's the emulator or what, guess i never really noticed but it's drawing over the number 80.. so, i don't if works properly yet cause i haven't seen the number "1" in the list and the box hasn't changed - actually, i have never seen the number "1" in the list... is it something in the code or just the emulator?

i think it's the emulator!!! lol, yep cause it keeps drawing the same numbers everytime you reset the game - i'll have to try it in a ds.. nope it's doing the same exact thing in the ds :(

ps: i should mention that's hitting the play button over and over and over.. pain in the butt to keep resetting the game - wanted to see if it would change.. eventually, you won't be able to keep pressing the play button like you can now.
