RPS - Finished version, Bugs Fixed

Postby WinterAce » Tue Apr 14, 2009 1:43 pm

YESS!!!!!
Wait for Variables really delayed this project. But its over.
Sprites are custom made, using PAINT.NET. All those who don't have it get it here http://getpaint.net, its awesome for sprite making.
Special thanks to Eldude for his small demo, which I have modified and produced RPS. Also to James, for creating the best and easiest Game Maker.
Other people who helped are listed in the game.
This is version 1.0. v1.5 will save you all time score (need help on that, please post in this thread).

Your opinions on my first game are most welcome. I have not put any backgrounds because I'm not registered.

Also, I would like to know what you think my next project should be.

Thanks for all your help.

If this is a finished version, why is it .xds instead of .nds?

Works well.

It would be nice if you showed what the CPU had chosen like in my original example!

@Eldude: For the save score stuff:

This is what I thought about it. I declare a variable(integer) in the STARTroom. I also Draw the variable in the same room. In the game room, after the player beats the cpu, the variable's value goes up by one. Can I do that? If yes which act should I use to declare the variable. Also how do I save it so that when the player opens the game later, the variable still shows the score and not 0.

By Save, do you mean turning the DS off and then comming back to the game??

If this is the case I am not able to help you at this stage as I have not worked on getting the save load function working in the new version of DSGM.

I don't think it will be hard but I just have not got to it as yet.

Do you think the PaLib forums could help me?

thats how I got em working last time around. Since we have moved to EFS the old way (saving to FAT) does not work anymore.
As I said, I could fix it but have not had time to do so.

Can I obtain the my game's code (C code)? When I open it with NotePad, only some kind of file opens *which is not the code*.

You sure can.

Compile your game, then go to c:\dsgamemaker\temp\source
There you will find main.c and this is your source.

This file can be opened/edited in notepad.

The guys over at PALIb ask for your code?

No, I thought that I could use the example at Palib tutorials and try to do it.
