Duckhunt NDS

Postby Smileynator » Mon Feb 22, 2010 5:30 pm

I know this has been done before.
Though that version i found just had a bird flying around, and you could shoot it + 1 score.
I want it to do everything the original game had.
I just started over and got about as far as that first demo.
See if you can find any glitches?
Press A to let a bird fly :) and shoot it with the stylus!
(Fun fact: The bird flight engine is the bouncy ball tutorial made by James :P )

Good job, but when you shoot a duck, I see a black screen for about 0.5 seconds.
Suggestion: Maybe add a score to it, I know it's the first release but that would be nice.

Thats been done on purpose :)
The original duckhunt made and entire black screen with a small white square to register if you hit the duck or not. Its classic :)
Score and 3 bullets per round will be added soon, the engine must finish first, then ill also make a 2duck mode :) and add automated rounds :D

Also soon: classic sounds, Dog.

I added the bird ''fly away'' option.
The dog is still dead, and it resets after fly away has been done (bird flew out of screen)
Also you can only fire 3 times at 1 bird.

Oh, and one tiny suggestion,
Maybe rename the title to Duckhunt DS.(with no "N" in it)
But that is my opinion!

I like NDS better :P
Anyway, I have the fly away function working. You can run out of bullits now.
The dog holds up a bird where it got shot, the dog laughs at you when you miss 3 bullets.
Next up: score
And a bug: The dog intro wont work, somehow the same sprite i use to laugh at ppl, doesnt work when i want to animate it to walk across the scene before the duck is released :|
I might post an XDS later for ppl to peek in it.
For now, ill try and work on scoring and making it actually score you points

Q: Does anyone know how the F scores are counted? (500 1000 or 1500) it seems complete random :/

Layering is nice. Birds should come automatically.

Even thou its easy to do, I do like the flashes when you fire.

I think the ducks hang too long after being shot before they fall.
If you press A while a duck is in the air, the duck dissapears and another one flys up.
If the ducks are not going to be auto like James suggested then you need to disable the A button while the duck is in the air.
